Rock Steady Boxing for
Parkinson's Disease
(Service Learning Project)

Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s is a training class taught by certified trainers. The exercise programs are designed to attack Parkinson’s at its neurological points. The classes target symptoms of Parkinson’s that also focus on the individual's overall health and wellness, strength training, reaction time, and balance. Rock Steady Boxing helps individuals with Parkinson’s at all levels combat their symptoms and promote a healthier lifestyle.

Through my time at Rock Steady Boxing, I learned more about Parkinson’s Disease and how it affects one’s daily occupations. I got hands-on direct patient care experience through working with my clients and peers. Due to my time there I feel more comfortable and confident when working with clients who have Parkinson's Disease. I was also able to work on my patient handling skills, communication, therapeutic use of self, and leadership styles.
